Summary

As sweet as a macaron from Laduree, this romantic novel set in Paris about an American ballerina and a charming French boy is parfait for fans of American Royals and Netflix's Emily in Paris。

Mia Jenrow has always known she's destined to be a professional ballerina。 In fact, it's in her blood--according to family legend, her too-many-greats-to-count-grandmother once danced for the Paris Opera and was painted by Degas himself! Her parents say it's just a fantasy, but to Mia it's so much more than that。 It's her fate。

Mia is planning to spend a magical summer in France pursuing her dream, but as she pirou-ettes into Paris, she soon realizes it may be a bit more complicated than she hoped。 For starters, there's her rival, Audrey, who will stop at nothing to show her up。 There's her ballet instructor, whose impossibly high standards push her to the breaking point。 And then 。 。 。 there's Louis。 Devastatingly, distractingly charming Louis。 He's eager to show Mia his city--and Mia is more than happy to hop on his Vespa and wrap her arms around him as they pass the gleaming lights of the Eiffel Tower。

Mia's summer was supposed to be about ballet--but there's a reason Paris is called the City of Love。 。 。 。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was a quick read。 It seems almost too good to be true for most of the book。 Our MC gets into the ballet school, she's boosted up a level, she practices hard and gets a lead, she meets a guy who is sweet and really nothing terribly wrong with him; so if you're me then you're reading all this and thinking when is the shoe going to drop? Feels like I was on a scooter ride round and about in Paris, strolling down the streets filled with flowers, sitting down in a café, biting a buttery croissant, listening to music being played on the streets, observing the ancient architectures and art galleries in the world’s most romantic city。Such a beautifully written rom com ❤️

This was so meh… as soon as the MC called wine “grown-up juice” I was gone。 To be honest, I skimmed the last half only so I could read the ending and not feel the shame of DNFing it。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 okay, so i have many thoughts。 first off, the author gives us a promising story about an aspiring ballerina going to Paris for a program to help her get an apprenticeship to ABT with romance along the way。 may i say that this both failed and nailed my expectations。anyway…。a better review come laterSPOILER ALERT: WHY TF DID THEY GET IN YHE ACCIDENT AT THE LAST MINUTE。also, Mia is the epitome of privileged with constant complaint。 ughhh she was so annoying at times。

THE PLOT TWIST PLS

As light and fluffy as a good croissant and as sweet as a pain au chocolat。 Kisses and Croissants is a quick, fun read for a dose of friendship, ballet ambition, summer romance (and even a little family mystery) -- all playing out among the sights and sounds of the streets of Paris。 I enjoyed it!

Emma

3。75 stars。 Very cute, but sometimes a bit cliché! I mostly enjoyed the whole ballet thing and the friendships。

"Because croissants are like kisses。 You don’t fully “get”them until you’ve had them in Paris。 And now I know this: French kisses taste a million times better in France。”To be very honest, this was just a cute, light read。 There wasn't much to say about it beyond that。 I did think the whole "mystery" aspect with the Degas painting was out-of-place and there wasn't a ton of character growth for Mia (or any at all)。 I liked Louis well enough, but I felt like all the other characters were discarde "Because croissants are like kisses。 You don’t fully “get”them until you’ve had them in Paris。 And now I know this: French kisses taste a million times better in France。”To be very honest, this was just a cute, light read。 There wasn't much to say about it beyond that。 I did think the whole "mystery" aspect with the Degas painting was out-of-place and there wasn't a ton of character growth for Mia (or any at all)。 I liked Louis well enough, but I felt like all the other characters were discarded once Mia met him (which was very early on)。 The plot twist was also not as dramatic as I was hoping for; personally, I wanted drama!!! suspense!!! groveling!!! And that was not there。 。。。more

Wow, this book transported me right into the streets of Paris。 I love books like these that show young girls living out their Parisienne dreams。 I don't usually enjoy young-adult novels but this one continued to make me smile。Watching Mia navigate her summer in Paris made me so jealous。 She was chasing her dreams as a ballerina and falling in love with sweet French boys。 I don't think you could name a better way to spend the summer。 I loved that this book was written in the POV of a young Americ Wow, this book transported me right into the streets of Paris。 I love books like these that show young girls living out their Parisienne dreams。 I don't usually enjoy young-adult novels but this one continued to make me smile。Watching Mia navigate her summer in Paris made me so jealous。 She was chasing her dreams as a ballerina and falling in love with sweet French boys。 I don't think you could name a better way to spend the summer。 I loved that this book was written in the POV of a young American girl but was written by an actual French woman。 It made me think of this book as more authentic compared to other books like this written by Americans。Overall, this book was super sweet。 It carries such a strong message about chasing your dreams but knowing when to adapt to obstacles and new opportunities。 It gives you an inside look into the Parisien lifestyle。 This was exactly was I was looking for when I picked up this book。 。。。more

3。75⭐/5⭐•I actually enjoyed this book a lot! I liked the romance and the drama so I had a lot of fun while reading this。 The characters are well written and everything just fits so well。 But it was not one of the books that I would call my favourite so that is mainly why the lower rating。
